Training and Upgrading TVET Professionals

VTDI’s mandate is to train and upgrade TVET professionals. This is achieved through the offering of:

• Standard programmes (e.g. postgraduate diploma, associate degree and degree programmes)
• Short courses (i.e. courses offered to the public over a few months)
• Customised training (i.e. workshops tailored and offered to industry personnel upon request, locally and regionally). Customised training interventions have been developed for a wide variety of agencies/companies/industries including:
  • Digicel
  • Jamaica Teacher’s Association
  • MIND
  • Nestle Jamaica Ltd
  • Ministry of Health
  • Department of Correctional Services
  • Jamaica Defence Force

    Additionally, team members have conducted workshops regionally in countries such as:

  • Trinidad
  • St. Lucia
  • St. Kitts
  • Barbados
  • Antigua
  • Grenada
  • St. Vincent
